Bachelor of Information Technology & Management Program
The Bachelor of Information Technology & Management is a 2 year transfer program that focuses on the application and management of information technology. The Bachelor of Information Technology & Management program is taught using a hands-on, reality-based approach to education, in which students apply what they learn in class to solve real-life problems.
The program is designed to enable students from two-year technical schools, community colleges and other universities to transfer to IIT and complete a bachelor's degree. Classes meet in the evenings and on weekends and the program may be taken either full or part-time. Students gain knowledge of contemporary programming languages, operating systems, networking, relational database systems, and systems security, with a focus on integration in the workplace. The program does not require prior technology courses; all technical areas are presented beginning at a fundamental skill level.
The courses in the Information Technology and Management program are designed to provide a solid knowledge of the field and to prepare you to take industry-standard certification exams for certifications from organizations such as CompTIA; Microsoft; Sun; Oracle; the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals; the Linux Professional Institute; Macromedia; the System Administration, Networking
and Security (SANS) Institute and more.
The Center for Professional Development draws on IIT’s extensive experience in adult education to offer technology-oriented training and education for working professionals. Courses are taught by IIT professors and industry professionals with significant working, teaching and research experience in their fields. We offer education and training in a wide variety formats including degree, non-degree, certificate, credit and non-credit programs; corporate training; short courses; and seminars ranging from a few hours to several days in length.
